Why Network Marketing is the future and a viable Option for Working from Home.
Back in 2003 I opened a salon when I was 19 years old. Best hands on learning experience ever! I had bought into a franchise that was in breach of the contract in like 22 different ways. So here I was Little Liz, and I quickly learned I had to figure it out.
I hired an attorney and sued the franchise, WON! Never saw a penny of the money I had taken a loan out on and paid the franchise. Soon after they filed bankruptcy, and the mortgage company and big dogs had first dibs. So little Liz learned a lot of life long lessons.
Here is the thing though. I bought into the franchise because I had no idea what I was doing. I wanted to learn, to be guided so I could have the systems in place and make a passive income.
So I did what I had to do, I figured it out. Looking back…I am sure I wouldn’t have wanted to been told what to do anyway by being in a franchise.
The things is I owned this salon, but the truth is the salon owned me. I wanted to badly for that place to burn down. Or some miracle amazing employee to come in and take it over. I was exhausted being in business for myself and always missing out on social events, and my friends and family.
The thing is I love being in business for myself, but not by myself.
Why Network Marketing is the Future
So….I fell in love with this product. I didn’t immediately see the product or business as a way out of the salon. Or a way to time freedom and flexibility.
I was looking for something else, but network marketing never one time crossed my mind as an option for a business.
Don’t ask, I think I thought it wasn’t a real business. I didn’t think it solved my problem of wanting to be home more and around my friends and family. Truthfully, I didn’t know anything really about it beside these people having home parties. BARF!!!!
Let me share with you what I learned about this home based business. Why the business model is genius and why Network Marketing is the Future.
1. Low Risk
When i borrowed money to open the salon my parents had to use their house as collateral for the loan. For real….When I bought into my first network marketing company, it was $99 and a great value. The current company i am building with cost me a big ole $59. You can go without starbucks for the week for that low buy in.
No lease, no overhead and crazy expenses, but still the amazing tax benefits. The thing is it’s amazing that you can get into business for a low cost. However it also gives people a reason to not stick with it or have a real commitment.
They don’t have much to loose. Most have an “I’ll give it a try”, attitude vs the “I have got to give it my all” mindset. Like i had when I bought into that franchise back in 2003. The one that went sour before I was even open for business.
2. flexibility to earn an income.
How many people do you know deriving uber and grubhub? Delivering for Instacart? A lot!
Have you ever asked them why they are doing it?
The answers I get cover a wide range, but they always come back to money. Savings to remodel the backyard, earning extra money to pay off my credit card debt. I drive after work to save for a downpayment on a house. I lost my job and needed something.
It all came back to needing money. SOoooo Many of these sidegigs are helping people out financially, they also are taking peoples time away from their house. Away from their friends and family.
The thing that I found out about being in network marketing is, I can make a side income while I sleep. While I had a 10 minute break between clients at work. The amount of time you choose to invest is completely up to you to decide.
I can be home doing elearning with my daughter, helping her and making money. With a product that people consume and use daily. You can fit this into the small windows of time, or set a schedule and make time to get it in when you see fit. The flexibility to earn an income is why network marketing is the future.
3. Residual Income
Residual income is when you continue to get paid after you already did the work. Some examples are books, online courses, movies, or musicians. Also income from real estate or business investments where you don’t actually have to show up to work to earn it.
For example, I made a social media makeover course in 2017 and I still am paid on it. In the salon days we had a monthly membership for spray tans!
In network marketing, residual income refers to money you receive from two sources: Recurring billing from customers who buy a product or a service marketed by you. The second way Recurring billing from customers who buy a marketed by your downline. Why Network Marketing is the Future because people are realizing the importance of passive income.
4. Proven systems
SYSTEM stands for Save Yourself Time Energy and Money.
Systems are what keeps a business running smoothly. Systems are what keeps a business giving their customers they same experience and results every time.
In network marketing systems make it like a franchise in a box. NOW, not all companies are created equal. If you are always having to redo training, and ways things are done, and not everyone can get the results from doing the work, that is NOT a system.
Systems allow your business to run smoothly and effectively no matter who is behind the wheel.
You don’t have to create what you think works, or what you think needs to be done. Systems are in place, an are as simple as step 1 do this, step 2 do this. Network marketing is simple, and when you partner with a team or company that has systems everything is much more simple.
5. leverage and scale
The real key is this: Network marketing is all about leverage. You can leverage your time and increase the number of hours of work effort on which you can be paid by sponsoring other people and earning a small income on their efforts.
example: In the salon I could only have one person in my chair at a time. When I built a team of stylists, I could teach them what I know, and they could do part of the work and they would get commissions on their portion of the sales and services. So we went from 1 person an hour to 3 people per hour and I was still only doing a portion of the work.
J. Paul Getty, one of the wealthiest men said “I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts.” This very basic concept and is the cornerstone of network marketing and leveraging your time and scaling your income! Why Network Marketing is the Future??? It’s about working smarter and not harder.
Network Marketing is the Future - wrap up
The point of all of this is, we already share what we love and often not getting kickbacks from the company we are sending our friends to.
So many people are picking up second and 3rd jobs because they need more money, but are losing out on time. Network Marketing isn’t perfect, but it should be on your radar as a way to make more money.
