Sensory Marketing Is Real and here is Why and how to use it!
All the top marketers do sensory marketing, and it builds a connection between a customer and the brand.
When I was working at a salon, we used to greet every customer with a smile and shake hands with them.
There were scented candles, and after the customer has seated, we would offer her coffee.
Notice how I have touched all five senses, and it will create a massive impact on the customer’s mind.
But if your business is online, it will be completely different, so how you are going to impact on your customer’s mind?
Sight – The first thing a person sees when he opens your social account is your picture with a smiling face.
If you are a business, you should choose high-quality images with bold colors to encourage customers a call-to-action.
You can add videos to personalizing your brand.
Sound – Have you ever noticed the background music when you enter a store?
Most of the time, stores play soft music, so whenever customers come, it instantly creates an impact on their minds.
For online marketing, you need to upload videos with excellent sound quality.
Nobody wants to listen to you if you are speaking in a monotonous tone, keep your pitch loud and clear.
The people will also pay attention to what you emphasize or when you take pauses. If you are using music, make sure it has no copyright issues.
Touch – How would people touch things virtually? The answer is simple yet tricky, through your words!
Using descriptive words can help people understand what they will feel once they get the product.
Of course, they can’t touch or feel the product, but the way you will describe it make them purchase the product too.
Smell – Again, people can’t smell it in real, so you need to describe the smell in words.
Tell them how amazing the food smells if your business is related to food. Make them crave it by saying, “I wish you could smell how amazing it is.”
Describing and showing the product will make people visualize things.
Taste – Words will do the job for ‘taste’ as well. People can’t taste anything by looking at it, but they can imagine it, your words will make them imagine how it tastes.
Tell them how exactly does it taste, is it sweet? Is it sour? Whatever the taste is, describe it in a way your words bring water in their mouths.
Wrapping Up
Our memories are attached to our senses, you will always remember how a thing feels even you touched it a long time ago.
As a marketer, you need to take care of all five senses in your business.
Even if you start with two or three senses at first, it is going to impact your customers
