OHHH Shizzz… You Got a Negative Review on Social Media.

You feel it right in the chest and it hurts… You put your heart and soul into your business and a negative review or post on social media can cause physical pain and possibly panic. 

Now what?

Do you delete their comment, hide the comment, ignore it, ban them or cuss them out?

All the options and you may feel mad and rushed to make the choice before anyone else sees it. What’s the proper and professional way of dealing with this situation?

I totally get how frustrating and anxiety causing this is.
I’ll share with you how to handle this situation in a professional way and without it bringing your energy down or ruining your day.

How to Handle Negative Reviews left online

Before I share with you how to handle negative reviews, 1 thing you need to know:

Negative reviews on social media WILL happen.

All business’ today open themselves up to getting negative reviews or comments online and on social media.  When this happens it can ruin your entire day and leave you feeling mad and frustrated. 

Getting a negative review is common when you’re running a business especially if you are active on social media.

The most important part of this is how you handle negative reviews when you get them.

Two things to consider when someone leaves a negative business review.

Before you respond to a negative review on social media ask yourself:

Is this review rude and an attack?
or
Is this constructive criticism?

If a comment is offensive and rude I recommend deleting it and banning that individual from my social and business.

The negative energy from that person isn’t welcomed in my community & world. No one needs that. 

There are also trolls online. These people get off on being hurtful, nasty and they are freaking ruthless. Don’t be afraid to delete them and ban/block them from your social media accounts.

Something to remember is, how may times have you read a negative review about someone else’s business and you thought to yourself, we can’t make everyone happy all the time. Some reviews negatively reflect the person leaving the review more than the business. 

Now if the review is constructive criticism and they just voice their opinion I’ll reply to the review and reach out to them personally.

And I’ll do what my momma taught me…kill them with kindness.

Negative reviews on social media aren’t always a negative.

It can be used as an opportunity to get insight into how to improve your customers experience.

It is also great for your audience to see how you handle negative reviews and complaints in your business. 

Negative business reviews on social media can sometimes be beneficial.

A business or person with all amazing reviews makes me suspicious and can actually make people want to dig for bad info about the business or person.

You don’t want people thinking you ran a contest to get all great reviews, or had all your friends and family leave the amazing reviews. 

No entrepreneur or company ever goes without a negative review on online.

If it hasn’t happened to you already it will. Now you will be ready to handle what comes your way!

Business isn’t always rainbows and butterflies when you have a presence online.
