How to Grow a Facebook Group

Facebook groups are a great way to indirectly promote your business and build loyal followers. Hence, I would recommend that every business owner create groups related to their niche and nurture their target audiences.

What's the Big Deal About Facebook Groups?

The amount of people in Facebook Groups climbed 40% in 2018, with more than half of facebook users (1.4 billion people) using groups every month. One in seven users belong to what Facebook calls “meaningful Groups” – those are groups that play a key role in the members’ daily lives.
By 2024, Zuckerberg wants to see the number of users in meaningful Groups climb to one billion.

So lets talk about how you can grow your group...

  • Make Your Group Name Searchable – Here is my first tip, keep your group name easy and searchable, so whenever a person searches a group according to your niche, your group name will pop on their Google search.
  • Tagging Your Group in Your Posts – Tagging your group in your public posts will drive traffic towards your group, and more people will join it. The difference between a public page and your profile is your profile has your own name and picture for your personal use. But a public page has all the content specially posted for people. When you post something on your public page and tag your group, people will join your community.
  • Driving More Traffic – Other than your public page, you can link your group to your website and emails. There are chances that people are looking for the information you are providing, and they instantly join your group. Also, you can add the link in your youtube video descriptions as well. You can try Pinterest and Linkedin as well, these two platforms are powerful and drive a lot of traffic.
  • Engage People – You must have heard people saying, “Provide value in your content” But if you don’t know what value is, you should ask your audience. Ask questions to the people about what they want to know and learn. I have kept two days a week in my group, where I ask questions from people and try to know what they want, who they are. This helps me a lot in making content that is valuable to them.
  • Send Incentives – If you want to grow your community quickly, you can hold giveaways or send them incentives. Set a benchmark that when the group reaches 1000 members, I will give anyone of you a gift. You can encourage them to invite their friends if they want to win the giveaway.
